What Can I Measure?
How Do I "Measure"?
At the heart of measurement lies the concept of a metric. There are three ways in which you can add metrics into your collections.
- Create one yourself.
- Follow a metric someone else has created and then start adding values yourself
- Check out what's trending!
You can choose to share your data or keep it private.
Give me an Example!
Ok, now how do you actually measure something? That's simple enough. Let's say you go for a run, and you have some metrics called 'fatigue' and 'miles run'. Simply move the sliders to assign values to each of those metrics and hit save. That's pretty much it. If you've chosen to make your data public, other people can see how much you've run and how you felt during each run. We'll soon have plugins that allow you to connect to third party services, and automatically get metric values so you don't have to manually enter data.
Measure What You Do
Start small and build up. This can be as simple as tracking daily and weekly activities. It's completely up to you...and that's the point -- we won't tell you what to measure, because you are unique.
Want some inspiration? Here are some of the things that we here at pifiq measure:
- miles run (per run)
- golf scores
- calories
- hours slept
- weight
- mood
- rating dining spots
- hours worked
- heart rate
- how long a yoga posture was held
- .....
Group Motivation
It's great to work in a group. It inspired us to improve because we could compare, share and push ourselves to keep journalling and improving. See what your friends are doing and follow what they're doing...have them follow you.
